Frank Myers Auto in Winston-Salem to Faciitate Chrysler Recall

A filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that the Chrysler Group will recall 24,177 vehicles due to a potential defect in a brake system that could result in sudden brake failure. The automaker said that the recall applies to 2010 model-year Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Avenger and Nitro, and Jeep Liberty, Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs, as well as 2009-2010 model year Dodge Ram trucks.

Chrysler said that in some of the vehicles, the clip retention tab on the brake pedal pin was not improperly formed, or not installed, during the manufacturing process. That could result in brake failure without warning and could cause a crash, the company said. Chrysler said it was unaware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. Chrysler said the safety recall is expected to begin during the month of January.
