National Quality Dealer Named

The following press release was issued in June of 2006

2006 National Quality Dealer Named at NIADA's Convention & Expo in Las Vegas

Hundreds of people were on hand at the Las Vegas Hilton and thousands more watched live from home on NIADA.tv as they eagerly awaited for one name to be called. Only one dealer possessing the highest commitment to quality, customer service, community, and to the used motor vehicle industry would be named the 2006 National Quality Dealer. This year the honor belongs to Tracy Myers of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who was selected as NIADA's 2006 National Quality Dealer at NIADA's 60th Anniversary Convention and Expo in Las Vegas Friday evening.

In a moving acceptance speech, Myers thanked his parents for continuously pushing him a step further and building his work ethic when he began his career. He also gave credit to his wife and their two adorable children for their constant support.

Myers owns and operates Frank Myers Auto Maxx. You would assume as the son of a dealership owner, Myers would have it easy getting into the used motor vehicle business. Indeed, his father had big plans in store for him, only they meant working in detail shop. Myers was 15 years old when he first started working in his father's detail shop. He went away to college and spent his free time as a salesperson at an area dealership. When he returned home years later, his father didn't extend him any favors and offered him a position in the detail shop.
Myers worked his way up the ladder through every aspect of the used motor vehicle industry. Today, at the age of 35, Myers owns his father's dealership and sold almost 1,400 vehicles last year. His dealership features the amenities of a Kid Zone, an Auto Spa, and a Bargain Center for the more budget conscious consumer. Myers prides himself in creating an atmosphere that is inviting, and provides the consumer with the education and tools to make an informed decision. He invites his customers to first apply for a pre-approved auto loan and then shows them a selection of vehicles that best fit their budgets.

Myers is actively involved in his community. There are numerous examples of his spirited generosity and it is more than fair to say that Myers reaches out to those in need time and time again without being prompted. He is the founder and host of the "Cruise for Cancer" car show and fundraiser. He is the primary sponsor of the Lewisville Kiwanis Dunkfest, which raises money for the Lewisville Public Library. He also helps raise money for the Oxford North Carolinas Children's Home by sponsoring a golf tournament. One month after Katrina made landfall, Myers helped organize and sponsor a family festival and concert to benefit the victims.
Myers was one of 23 dealers representing their state associations from across the country to be nominated for the National Quality Dealer award. A panel of judges from Northwood University in Michigan evaluated all the entries and selected this year's winner. NIADA began the long-standing annual tradition of naming a National Quality Dealer 30 years ago in 1976.
