Whew…what a huge undertaking by Eddie Alterman and his folks over at Car and Driver. I'm talking about the 10Best list that they just published and, if you’re keeping track, this is the 28th time Car and Driver has published their 10 Best. No real surprises this year. The BMW 3 Series continues its dominance of 10 Best history with an impressive19th straight win. The Honda Accord also makes the cut for a 24th time, though not consecutive like the BMW 3 Series.
And while the Audi S4 makes the grade, the average A4 does not. It’s also exciting to see the Ford Fusion Hybrid getting its props but odd that the gas-only version doesn't. And of course, you've got your annual appearance by the Mazda Miata MX-5, Porsche Boxster / Cayman and Volkswagen GTI. What fell off the list this year? The Jaguar XF, the Chevrolet Corvette and the Infiniti G37.
Is there anything that I would have done differently? Probably not much, though I was surprised to not see one of the new pony cars on the list. Hopefully they will make an appearance next year. And, as always, most of these vehicles will be available at one of my Frank Myers Auto Maxx stores once they enter the used car market.
