Massive Ford Recall To Be Facilitated By Winston-Salem Used Car Dealership

October 16, 2009 -- Ford is recalling all remaining vehicles equipped with Texas Instruments speed control deactivation switches. While the data show the majority of the vehicles being recalled do not pose a significant safety risk, we are recalling the vehicles to reassure customers and eliminate any future concerns. This recall affects older models, including discontinued vehicles. The majority is greater than 10 model years old, with some up to 18 model years old.

The faulty switch could potentially create a fire hazard in 4.5 million vehicles and has caused Ford to issue the largest recall in its history. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said this was the eighth recall, involving a total of 16 million Ford Motor vehicles, concerning the cruise control deactivation switch manufactured by Texas Instruments.
