Tracy Myers, Owner Of Frank Myers Auto Maxx, Named To Top Forty Under 40 List

Frank Myers Auto Maxx, a Winston Salem, NC used car dealership, announced today that owner Tracy Myers was named one of the Triad¹s 40 Leaders Under Forty award recipients for 2011. The award honors the Triad area's emerging leaders who are shaping its future. The Business Journal and UNCG Bryan School of Business and Economics, the sponsor of this year¹s awards, thanks all of the winners for their dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others by driving success for their employers and empowering their respective communities by giving of their time and talents.

At his award-winning car dealership, his customers commonly refer to him as The Nations Premier Automotive Solutions Provider. His industry peers often call him "a marketing genius", adding that "he has an old marketing soul that's reminiscent of a P.T. Barnum". While others have said that he is "a visionary...possibly to be compared to a Walt Disney for a new generation."

"Tracy has been instrumental for our successful ability to pull-through the recession while continuing to expand our Automotive Solutions Team and our revenues," said Credit Miracle Worker Rich Little. "We are grateful to have such an inspiring and cutting-edge leader as our employer, as our leader and as a member of our team. I am proud he has been chosen as a winner of this prestigious award and can think of no one as deserving as him." Frank Myers Auto Calls Out Google

For the record, let me state that I am an advocate of legitimate dealer review websites such as DealerRater, CarDealerCheck, CitySearch, etc . For the most part, they serve their purpose well and allow consumers to share their experiences…both good and/or bad… with other people.

The growing concern that I have is with review sites that allows the reviewer to remain anonymous or sites that won’t allow the business in question to respond. Surprisingly, one of the biggest violators of this is Google.

On June 21st, 2010, Dane posted the following review on Google Reviews named Don’t buy from Frank Myers‎‎. ”Frank Myers wasted my time and 299 for training and never received job placement or my money back.”

As soon as I received word via Google Alert that the “review” had been posted, I sent them a message because I felt that the reviewer in question had violated the Comment Posting Policy. It reads, in part: Don’t impersonate any person, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity. You see, the “reviewer” in question had never been hired by my dealership. They had only attended and paid for a training program conducted by an outside company. When he was told he wasn’t going to make the cut, I handed him a check for the 3 days he gave my dealership. We shook hands and he told me how surprised he was to have received a check. He thanked me and that was the last I heard from him…until today.

This afternoon, someone/something by the name of Google posted the following response. It was aptly named ‎Last I checked, you need to do a good job to keep a good job. “Sounds to me like Dane just wasn’t cut out for the work Frank Myers has won more awards than I can count. They have raving fans both by customers AND employees. Pretty low to leave a negative comment as a disgruntled ex employee rather than a customer.”

While it’s difficult for me to imagine that the folks at Google actually responded to this review, it’s still very cool that someone did. They obviously feel the same way I do about it…if you’ve got a problem with a business or an employer, be an adult and talk to them face to face. Stop hiding behind the review sites and posting negative nonsense that accomplishes nothing. If you don’t get your issues resolved after you’ve spoken to the business/employer in question, then post all you want.

And Dane…if you read this, please know that I will happily speak to the training company about reimbursing you your money for the class you took. They are also eager to work with you on your career placement opportunities that was discussed. Please call me so we can schedule a time to speak face-to-face. I am positive that we can get this misunderstanding resolved.

Today, Frank Myers Auto Maxx announced they had joined the “No Phone Zone” campaign, created by Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Studios, to combat distracted driving. The campaign is dedicated to honoring the lives lost due to distracted driving, educating the public about the dangers of distracted driving and activating people to make a difference in their communities. As part of the campaign, drivers are encouraged to take the “No Phone Zone” pledge. The pledge, available at www.oprah.com, asks motorists to commit to:

NC Business of the Year Award Recognizes Frank Myers Auto

The owner of Frank Myers Auto in North Carolina, has been nominated for the annual Business North Carolina magazine Small Business of the Year award. Frank Myers Auto Maxx was nominated for the contribution they make to North Carolina's economy.

Myers summarized the experience after hearing about his nomination. "This is unbelieveable! What a year it is turning out to be. In February, I was recognized as one of the top 50 entrepreneurs in North Carolina by Business Leader Media and now I found out about this. I am honored to be one of the nominees and I feel like I’m on top of the world. The nomination was one more validation that what my dad always said was right…surround yourself with good people and they’ll push you to the top. I am fortunate to have the best team in United States, if not the world. They continuously make me look more talented than I am (laugh).”

Now in its 15th year, the Small Business of the Year award is recognized as the most prestigious business award in the state. All winners are invited to the awards ceremony which will be held in December. Last year's gala was sponsored by BB&T and held at the Broyhill Inn and Appalachian Conference Center in Boone, N.C.
