Frank Myers Auto Presents: "Beat The Dealer" - May 2010

Q: "Are there tricks of the trade that will help me get the most for my trade-in when shopping for a new used car?"

A: "Even though it's a great question, there aren't many tricks that I can share with you. There is, however, something that many consumers don't know but can take advantage of. Many consumers do not realize that states often offer a tax credit when they trade in vehicle. For example, if you purchased a $10,000 vehicle in a state with a 6% sales tax and you did NOT have a trade-in, the sales tax would be $600 ($10,000 x 6%).

If the state allowed for a tax credit for trade-in's AND you traded in a used vehicle worth $5,000 against this $10,000 vehicle, your tax liability would be calculated like this:

$10,000 Price of new vehicle
- $5,000 Value of trade-in
= $5,000 Price used to calculate sales tax

The 6% tax would then be calculated on the $5,000 and NOT the full $10,000! This means you would pay $300 in tax instead of paying $600. A savings for you of 50%!

It's particularly important to consider the sales tax credit if you are thinking of selling your car privately. In the above example, you would have had to sell your vehicle for more money just to "break even." If you factor in the expense of advertising the vehicle and the value of your own time, your break even point becomes even higher. The lesson to be learned? Don't lose money by selling it yourself. By trading the vehicle in, you can avoid the hassle of selling it yourself AND you could pay less tax… a real "win-win" situation if ever there was one!

Wondering what YOUR trade-in is really worth? Check out our
100% FREE online trade evaluation! As always, you have nothing to lose and lots to gain!

Frank Myers Auto Chosen As a Google Favorite Place

The home office of the Frank Myers Auto Group is excited to announce that they have been chosen a Google Favorite Place. They received a letter from Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California announcing, “Congratulations! You’re a Favorite Place on Google.” In a neatly packaged envelope with a Google Map of downtown San Francisco printed on the inside of the envelope, Frank Myers Auto Maxx received a “We’re a Favorite Place on Google” poster. The poster was sent with a peel-and-stick picture and instructions to add the poster to your store window. Printed on the poster was a two-dimensional QR barcode that when scanned takes the user to the Frank Myers Auto Maxx Local Business Listing on Google Maps. Frank Myers Auto Maxx was discovered on Google more than 14,722 times in a 30 day period.

Also included in the envelope was a pass-along card that reads, “Grow your business by enhancing your free Google listing,” and a list of three items:

1. Use your Google account to log in at google.com/localbusinesscenter
2. Keep your hours, website, and other details up to date. Stand out with photos, video, even coupons-all for free.
3. Keep checking your personalized business dashboard to see how many hits your listing is getting, what zip codes people are traveling from to reach your door, and more.

The pass-along card further states in bright yellow bold print, “The enclosed decal is for your window, so you can show customers you’re a Favorite Place on Google,” and in smaller print, “Have a friend you think should know about Local Business Center? Pass this card along.”

Frank Myers Auto Group recognizes that even the smallest advantage in online marketing can make a big difference to the bottom line. Tracy Myers, owner of Frank Myers Auto, is grateful to receive this award and thanks its loyal customers for helping them enter the top tier of Google Maps.

Have A No-Cost Christmas At Frank Myers Auto Maxx

Can I tell you a surprising story of uncommon, heartwarming holiday giving?

The other day, I received a very personal letter that was addressed to none other than Santa Claus.

It's a very personal and heartfelt letter and you may be wondering how I acquired it. It's kind of a long story so let's just say a little elf gave it to me. Needless to say I was very touched when I read it and I'm sure you will be too.

The reality is, children all over the country are writing letters just like this because their families have been hit with difficult times due to tightening credit restrictions and nervous financial institutions. I don't want for children to have to choose between a car and Christmas.

It's because of this letter that I'm doing this and writing to tell you about it. So please give me a minute. It could help many local families have a better Christmas … maybe even yours.

After reading Jamie's letter, I had to help this little girl and her family out. But I knew there were many other families in a similar situation. So I established a private fund to pay for Christmas for deserving families who buy a nicer, newer, Certified car this month. We're calling this the "Cringle Fund."

Simply put, when you buy a Certified car this month from Frank Myers Auto Maxx, Christmas is covered.

That’s a huge relief for the thousands of local people who want a nicer, newer car right now, but are unsure of how to manage their holiday gift-giving budget at the same time.

I'm calling this program No-Cost Christmas because when you buy a Certified car from Frank Myers Auto Maxx in December, you won’t have to make a payment on the nicer, newer vehicle you desperately need and really want until after the Holidays…

PLUS you’ll get up to $1,500 to use to buy gifts for your family and friends, take a vacation, decorate your house, give back to the community, or whatever else you’d like to do to celebrate the season.

A New Approach That Saves You Money
I've been a busy little elf these last couple of months putting together new programs that will save you big money and give you a new opportunity to get a nicer, newer vehicle even if you've had credit problems in the past.

It’s my EVERYBODY RIDES Program!
I’ve reinvented my entire business to be 100 percent focused on the customer, the people, and their needs and desires.

I feel like Scrooge waking up after being visited by the three spirits. I have a whole new way of looking at the car business and I want to help as many people in Winston-Salem as I can.

I know that there are people out there right now who want (or even need) to drive a nicer vehicle, but are waiting because they’re worried about paying for the Holidays.

The Cringle Fund Can Pay For Your Christmas
So I have eliminated that worry by offering to cover the costs of having a beautiful Christmas so you don’t have to choose between one or the other.

The reality is that we have had a successful year. Together, I believe we can make a difference nationwide and attract the attention of national news media.

I've created a private fund we’re calling “The Cringle Fund.” This offer of a No-Cost Christmas is being made by me…but only until the Cringle Fund runs dry.

Changing The National Perception
Some people have misconceptions about car dealers. Some rotten apples have really spoiled it for the bunch, and we’ve all gotten a bad reputation because of it.

I’m working hard to right the wrongs and show people that car dealers and other business owners can be kind hearted and giving.

Interestingly, what most people don’t even realize is that local businessmen like me are often the engine behind the community’s charitable contributions and the private financial support system for local giving.

This Offer Is Good Even For People

With Credit Problems
Also important to note is my EVERYBODY RIDES Program found exclusively at Frank Myers Auto Maxx. This program ensures that all people, regardless of past credit issues, are treated equal and fairly and get to play on a level playing field.

I realize that all of us run into bad luck eventually. It’s just not fair to make some people suffer because they’ve run into hard times. So we fight every day to help hard working, honest people get approved for the car loans they really need right now. It’s all part of our approach to doing business.

Not Just For Car Buyers
Even if your family doesn’t need a nicer, newer car right now, you should still plan a visit to Frank Myers Auto Maxx this month.

I’m ready to help everybody this month…whether you buy a car or not. We’ve stocked the store with free toys for little kids and big kids (even Moms and Dads) that we’re happy to give away just for stopping by and saying hi.

My mission is to bring a smile to everyone’s face this season. So please come by and see us and let us share some of our Holiday spirit with you and give you a toy to help make Christmas morning brighter.

To accept my uncommon offer, visit Frank Myers Auto Maxx right away. The offer absolutely expires on December 24, but will only last until the Cringle Fund runs dry, which some experts anticipate could happen within the next 3 days.

Frank Myers Auto Maxx is located at 4200 North Patterson Avenue in Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Please call 336-767-3432 to make an appointment and check to see if funds are still available.

Here’s What You Need To Know
 No need to choose between a car or Christmas. You can have both.
 Buy a certified car from Frank Myers Auto Maxx this month and get up to $1,500 to cover Holiday expenses.
 Don’t make a payment until after the Holidays.
 All customers treated equally despite past credit problems.
 Offer available until December 24 or until the funds run dry, whichever comes first.
 Call (336) 767-3432 to check availability and schedule and appointment.

Oh! One more thing.

Come on down in the next week and I'll give you a toy just to help make your Christmas a little brighter. You can wrap it and put it under your tree or give it to someone who may need it. It's free. It's just my way of making things a little brighter for all this holiday season. Just bring this letter with you when you come.

Happy Holidays,

Tracy Myers, CMD
Frank Myers Auto Maxx

P.S. Happy Holidays from all of us here at Frank Myers Auto Maxx

Register At Frank Myers Auto To Win A 2009 Ford Fusion

Winston Salem, NC - “This is Tracy Myers, and I want you to have a free car."

Those are the words that Myers wrote on a piece of paper when he heard that the current unemployment rate was at a staggering 10%. He knew that he could use his resources to help the hard working folks that needed transportation.

The Winston-Salem, NC used car dealer is the owner of Frank Myers Auto Maxx and, little did he know, he had written the first words of his latest television commercial.

Myers, whose father is a partner with the sponsor of the car giveaway (Carolina Pride Car Wash), decided to offer an easy way for the community to register for the free 2009 Ford Fusion. "I sincerely want folks to come in and register for this 2009 Fusion," Tracy said. “In return, I can assure them that they won’t be pressured in any way possible. We’ll make this quick and easy…PLUS they don’t have to buy anything to register!”

Thousands of people are expected to take Myers up on his invitation, and on December 10th of 2009, someone will win the used-car giveaway. Myers helped promote the car giveaway by running one of the famously quirky television commercials. After the first tv commercial aired, the dealership received more than 300 phone calls. By the time the second commercial aired, the dealership had already received close to 700 calls.

Myers continued by saying, “We’re takinging entries up until November the 30th at 4200 North Patterson Avenue in Winston-Salem, NC and the big drawing will be held on December 10, 2009. “ For official rules, visit: http://www.cpsweepstakes.com/.

Graduation in Winston-Salem Turns Into A Celebration For Frank Myers Auto Maxx

Hey! Uncle Frank here from Frank Myers Auto Maxx, a used car dealership in Winston-Salem, NC. And YES, before you ask...there really is an Uncle Frank.

Just wanted to take a minute to show you the picture above. It's a picture of a nice young lady and her family. She was graduating college and wanted her favorite song represented. What was her favorite song?

Purple Rain? NO!

Whoomp, There It Is? NO!

Another One Bites The Dust? NO!

Her favorite song was MY theme song...EVERYBODY RIDES!

So this young lady (who, I must say, has an impeccable taste in music) decided to decorate her hat with the words EVERYBODY RIDES! And just for good measure, her really cool family also brought along an EVERYBODY RIDES sign. PLUS they took the picture and brought me a copy.

So if you want to know why she loves my song so much, click HERE and enjoy.

"Credit Miracle Worker" Rich Little Takes Oath

After being hailed as a “credit miracle worker” by many and as “too good to be legal” by others, Rich Little of Frank Myers Auto Maxx , the premier used car dealer in Winston-Salem, agrees to settle the case once and for all by taking a sworn oath in front of an audience of 24.

“I hereby certify that our credit policy is completely legal and involves no form of supernatural intervention,” said Rich during his oath.

Last month Rich and his team were able to secure financing for 76 new customers, most of whom had been turned down time and time again in the past.

“Listen...I don’t care what other car dealers say. I know our customers - and I know they will pay, even if they’ve had problems in the past,” explains Rich. “Tracy Myers, the owner of Frank Myers Auto, has spent a lot of time and a lot of money building solid relationships with banks and lenders who are committed to approving our customers. I trust our customers and the banks trust me...that’s all there is to it.”

So what kind of credit problems has Rich Little been able to deal with? When asked, he proudly rattled off a list including bankruptcy, medical bills, charge offs, late payments, divorces, student loan problems, IRS demands, repossessions, and more.

Keith Bowman, Sales Director, and Rich's right hand man explains, “It’s not our business to judge other people. We all make mistakes. That doesn’t mean we won’t do the right thing when
given another chance. Like the Bible says, ‘Let he without sin cast the first stone.’”

Helping people get approved isn’t the only thing Rich and his team do well. The hundreds of letters of happy past customers that line the wall of the dealership tell a story of a car buying experience like none other.

“In my mind, buying a car should be fun and easy. It shouldn’t be a terrifying experience like it is for most people. So we always make a big family environment here. We have family friendly movies playing on the wide screen tv, free popcorn, cold soda and hot gourmet coffee...anything that can help people relax and have a good time. Because that’s what we are - we’re a family. Many of our customers have bought cars from us 3 or 4 times in the past,” tells Rich.

“Are we miracle workers? Can we help everybody? Almost. There’s no magic. We get people approved because we work hard and they work hard. If a person has a job and can put together a few hundred dollars to show their commitment to the bank, we can usually get them approved. But if you don’t have the initiative to get and keep a job, we can’t help you. You gotta help yourself before we can,” Rich continued.

If you’re interested in finding out if Rich and his team can help you, call Frank Myers Auto Maxx at 336-767-3432 and ask to speak with Keith. Keith will get some basic information from you over the phone then schedule an appointment.

“You can be in and out in less than an hour in many cases,” promised Keith. “So don’t be afraid to call for any reason - we live to help people just like you."

In a Time of Economic Uncertainty, Frank Myers Auto is Flourishing

NOTE: The following profile appears in the June 2009 issue of Business Leader Magazine. Enjoy!
Winston-Salem, NC - While other auto dealerships are closing their doors – a result of an economic meltdown from which they could not recover – Frank Myers Auto is thriving. That’s by design, says Tracy Myers, owner and Certified Master Dealer. “The automotive industry is in shambles, primarily from lack of consumer financing,” he says. “Frank Myers Auto is different.”

In 2000, the auto industry experienced something eerily similar to the auto industry’s current malaise. Financial institutions that offered financing for customers with imperfect credit started dropping like flies. “And they almost took us down with them,” says Myers. “We made a decision then to NEVER allow another entity to hold our success or failure in its hands.” In order to keep that vow, Frank Myers Auto developed some innovative programs that continue to keep them successful and triumphant despite adverse economic conditions.

Through its Everybody Rides program, Frank Myers Auto continues to outsell the competition and has earned nearly every award under the sun, including being named one of the top 28 auto dealerships in the nation and the only Certified Master Dealer in the Triad. Tracy Myers himself earned the coveted National Quality Dealer of the Year – the youngest recipient ever. “We opened our own finance company named Credit Quick of Winston-Salem and started our Everybody Rides program,” says Myers. “We want complete control over our success and how we treat our customers.”

At the foundation of their signature program is a simple premise – Frank Myers can finance every customer, and if they can’t, they’ll give them a $1,000 credit. Sound risky? Not really. Everybody Rides has one of the lowest repossession rates in the county – eight to 12 percent versus the national average of nearly 25 percent and rising – largely because credit counselors at dealerships continue to work with clients long after the deal is closed. “Most people with credit issues want to pay, but they may not know how to manage their money,” says Myers. “Our financing specialists show them a way to make car payments every month.” Within 30 months, customers can own a late model car free and clear and are able to graduate to something newer at a lower interest rate. Clients build a relationship with the people at Frank Myers and many who could buy elsewhere choose to stay. “We always put the customer first,” says Myers. “It’s that simple.”

That’s also why Myers opened the new automotive service center at the dealership in Winston-Salem. “Because of the economic downturn, more people are keeping their cars longer. To do that, they will need more general car maintenance. We created Frank Myers Car Care Center to help our customers keep up on general maintenance from oil changes, tune ups and brakes to more involved repairs such as transmission and engine work,” he says.

More than 80 years ago, Tracy Myers’ great grandfather opened the first Frank Myers store. Today, Frank Myers Auto has been hailed as the Disney World of car buying. Popcorn, balloons, fresh gourmet coffee and a weekly family fun night where customers can view large-screen movies and eat pizza for free are a part of an ambiance that attracts people. What keeps them there is much greater than that, though. In addition to the Everybody Rides program, Frank Myers Auto offers a variety of incentives and discounts for local heroes through its Unsung Heroes program – from stay-at-home parents to local firefighters and soldiers. And sales people are rewarded on customer satisfaction and service rather than commission. “If customers are working with a commissioned sales agent,” says Myers, “that agent is thinking about the commission rather that the customer. Our agents are trained to help a client find just the right car for his or her needs.”

The company also offers a 48-hour money-back guarantee, 160-point mechanical safety inspection and a free lifetime engine warranty. “Helping people is what it’s all about,” says Myers. “I wake up every day excited about the number of people I get to help.”

Frank Myers Auto Named To Top 100 List

Tracy's Great Grandpa Frank Myers @ the
original Frank Myers Store. Date of pic unknown.

RALEIGH, N.C. – Business Leader Media is proud to reveal the Top 100 Small Businesses in North Carolina for 2009.

Frank Myers Auto Maxx was recognized as one of the Top 100 small businesses in the entire state for the second year in a row. The hugely successful and wildly popular independent auto dealerships, owned by Certified Master Dealer Tracy Myers, realized an astonishing 1 year growth of 35% and a 5 year growth of a whopping 141%. What makes these numbers so stunning is that the used car industry as a whole is in a downward spiral, with no immediate recovery in site.

"The honor of being named one of the top 100 small businesses in North Carolina is simply a testament to my father’s belief that if you surround yourself with good people, they’ll push you to the top," said Tracy Myers. "If anyone deserves the credit for this recognition, it is my incredible staff because they continue to push me to the top."

The 2009 winners were ranked based on revenue growth, business achievement and community involvement and were chosen from 367 finalists. The rankings and profiles of the companies will appear in the June issue of Triad Business Leader magazine and online at
http://www.triadnewswire.com/. In 2008, Frank Myers Auto Maxx placed #22.

The New Movers Guide To Little Known Car Buying Secrets

As most of you probably know, moving can be ridiculously stressful. As a matter of fact, it is the third most stressful life event following death and divorce. Moving disrupts your normal routine and generates feelings of uncertainty as you enter uncharted waters.
Well, I’ve got some good news… one that won’t make your move less stressful – but it might save you from needing a bottle of aspirin on the big day.

To help take your mind off of all the boxes you’ve got to unpack, I have put together for you a very special “Get Acquainted Gift.” This gift is FREE to you with no strings attached and no obligation. It’s just a little gift from me to my neighbor – YOU.

This special gift includes my newest consumer bulletin (which you hold in your hands) and a FREE laser car wash (an $8.00 value...just print this blog post and bring it into any Frank Myers Auto Maxx location for redemption).

This is my gift to you and your family. But there is only one way you can get your hot little hands on this very special gift and if you’ll flip to the end of this report, I’ll tell you how.

I’M NO EXPERT ON MOVING...
...but I have been called the “Used Car Expert”. It’s no secret that used car dealers have an unshakable reputation for shady deals, dishonest stunts, dirty tricks, tom foolery, shenanigans, and--- other undesirable actions that you should prefer never to have to deal with.

Fortunately, not all used car dealers are guilty of these dreaded sins. There truly are a group of committed, ethical, honest, good, and professional independent car dealers out there who are truly looking out for your best interest.

Unfortunately, a few bad apples have spoiled the business for those of us who run a tight ship and an honest operation.

Because there are a few bad apples out there, my personal advice to you is to arm yourself with as much information as possible about the scams the dishonest dealers try to pull so you can spot them a mile away and run down the street to another dealer who really deserves your business.
The problem is in knowing how to spot the bad dealers and in being able to identify their tricks and scams.

So I’ve listed the most common scams the bad guys like to pull so you can be on the look out.
Now you’ll know – when you see one of these games being played…

From The Author
The material you are about to read in this report will help you SAVE TIME AND MONEY and can prevent you from being a victim of potentially unethical or dishonest car dealers.
“THE NEW MOVERS GUIDE TO LITTLE-KNOWN CAR BUYING SECRETS” IS POWERFUL. On the following pages, I will put my families’ lifetime of research to work for you. I will also share with you the “Secret Questions” that the automotive industry has attempted to keep confidential.

By reading this report, it will put you in a much better position to own your next vehicle because you will be better prepared. You will know what to ask and what a good deal is.
Since you may not know who I am, let me share a few things about myself so you know that I am well qualified to offer you “Expert Advice”. My name is Tracy Myers and I am the owner of Frank Myers Auto Maxx. My family has been serving happy customers in the Triad area of North Carolina for more than 80 years. Personally, I have been involved in every aspect of this industry for more than 15 years. I am a “hands on” car guy and I am committed to operating our business with honesty and integrity.

I encourage and look forward to your feedback regarding this report. Please feel free to write me or email me with your comments or questions at the address listed at the end of this publication.
So if you are ready to learn the secrets that were never intended to reach your eyes ... read on!

Find The Right Dealership and Sales Professional to Deal With
Dealing with the right dealership and Sales Professional is the foundation to the whole purchasing process. The dealership and how they treat you is a key factor. Do they WANT your business? Do they want to KEEP your business? Do the owners strive to keep their dealership the best it can be? You can tell by dealing with the management, salespeople and everyone else who you come in contact with at the dealership.

SALESPERSON: After you purchased your vehicle have you ever heard from your salesperson? Does your salesperson assist you with your vehicle concerns and needs? Have you ever purchased a vehicle only to find out the salesman made promises that he/she wouldn't keep? Or you found out later that they lied to you? This is the Twenty First Century! There are actually honest salespeople who take this business very seriously and look at it as a long-term career.

HOT “NEW MOVERS” TIP!
If you don't have a salesperson you can trust, ASK AROUND. Do you have a relative, friend, co-worker or neighbor who has been happy with a particular source? Find a salesperson you can trust and who WANTS your business and goes out of his way to KEEP your business. They are harder to find but they are out there so ask around. You DON'T have to deal with someone you don't like!

Know What You Need Your New Vehicle to Accomplish For You
Be very careful in choosing your next vehicle because it is a big investment. If you pick the wrong one it will cost you money. That is why it is very important to make a list of things you need your new vehicle to accomplish before you start shopping. Have you thought about how much room you need? Gas mileage? Power for pulling and hauling?

Car Shoppers: Make sure the car is going to provide you with enough room to put your stuff in and has enough legroom for everyone. It's a real bummer when you find out the car seat doesn't fit in right or the kids don't have enough leg room in the back.

Truck Shoppers: You could wind up an unhappy truck owner if you haven't thought carefully about how many people and how much gear you need to carry. As well, when selecting a truck, you need to consider what you are really going to pack for payload. Why endure the rough ride of a three quarter ton when all you need is a half ton? As well, what are you really going to use this truck for? Diesel engines are great for power but they cost a lot! Sure… if you are to go with a gas engine - a big block V8, you will burn more fuel, but how much fuel can you burn for the $5000 in price? Also ask yourself if you really need 4 wheel drive. Sure…they are nice to have if it snows, but does it really snow that much in your area? If it doesn’t and you don’t have to have a 4 wheel drive for your job (examples: construction, farming, landscaping, etc), then do not pay an extra $1,500 - $2,000 for a 4 wheel drive.

“Don’t pay an extra $1,500 - $2000 for a 4 wheel drive unless you need it for your job.” – Tracy Myers

Decide Why Used is Better Than New
Did you realize that when you buy a new vehicle, you can lose a few thousand dollars as soon as you drive it off of the lot! ARE YOU PREPARED TO LOSE A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS IN A MATTER OF MINUTES! If so, then buying a new vehicle may be a wise investment for you. If not, you may want to consider buying used. Vehicles are built better now than they were twenty years ago, so buying used can make a lot of sense. In the last five to ten years they have been designed to run for 100,000+ miles! Take care of them and they will last!

HOT “NEW MOVERS” TIP!
If you're a used car shopper, ask your Sales Professional if the vehicle(s) you are looking at comes with a FREE warranty and/or a Money Back Guarantee. If they do not, then you may want to question why the dealership does not stand behind what they sell. At Frank Myers Auto Maxx and FrankMyersAuto.com we take the worry, pain, fear and frustration out of buying a used vehicle! Every certified car, truck, van and SUV comes with our “Love It Or Leave It” Money Back Guarantee and Uncle Frank’s Lifetime Engine Warranty!

Find a Dealership That Can Provide References or Testimonials From Customers
Very few dealers can provide this information. In many cases this is because they have very few satisfied customers. Many dealerships simply continue to “buy” new business through their advertising efforts, instead of creating “raving fans” and building their business on repeat and referral business.

If a dealer doesn’t have letters of recommendation from people they have worked with in the past, you should consider shopping elsewhere.

Many dealers lure customers into the dealership with big promises, only to hassle them with high pressure tactics once they get there. Those dealers don’t have customers who are lifetime “raving fans”. I would recommend that you do not do business with any dealer who doesn’t have a long list of happy customers.

At Frank Myers Auto Maxx and FrankMyersAuto.com we have a long list of very happy customers from all over the Carolinas and Virginia -and we have the testimonial letters to back it up. When you come in, you won’t be able to miss seeing them.

DID YOU KNOW? Credit is a word derived from the Latin word credare, which means to believe or trust. A mutual trust between the creditor (customer) and the debtor (lender) is therefore implied in credit.

“I recommend finding a dealer that has a long list of happy customers.” – Tracy Myers

Ask the Dealer if They Have Any Money Back Guarantees?
Caveat emptor is Latin for “Let the buyer beware.”
Although the three-day “Cooling Off” rule has been in effect for years, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) reports that many consumers are still confused about their rights. Here is a reminder of where and when this rule applies.

Under the Federal Trade Commission’s “Cooling Off” Rule, you have three business days to cancel any purchase of $25.00 or more that you have made in your home or somewhere other than the seller’s usual place of business, such as a rented hotel room. The “Cooling Off” Rule also provides protection for consumers who purchase items at a product party given in a private home. The rule is designed to give consumers options to carefully weigh their decisions away from sales personnel and high-pressure environments.

However, as with every rule, there are exceptions. The “Cooling Off” Rule does not apply to: sales made at the seller’s usual place of business; sales made totally by mail or phone; those for real estate, insurance or securities; those of vehicles; those of goods and services that are needed to meet an emergency; or those of arts and crafts in certain locations. The Rule also does not apply to sales that begin as retail transactions at a business establishment, and are completed with the signing of a contract in your home.

For instance, ordering carpet at a store and signing the contract when someone comes to your home to measure floor space is not covered. “We often hear from consumers who think they have three days to cancel a transaction, when the rule actually applies to a limited number of situations,” said BBB Bill Moak. “It’s important that you understand your rights under the law before committing to any transaction, especially those in which you may change your mind.”
WARNING: There is no 3-Day “Cooling Off” period on MOST Car Transactions in MOST States! Most transactions take place at a dealership, which voids this rule. You must educate yourself, research your purchase and gather all the facts (then, if you’re like me, Pray!).

Here is the challenge:
• Sometimes customers Make Mistakes!
• Sometimes Car Dealers Make Mistakes!

At Frank Myers Auto Maxx and FrankMyersAuto.com we take the worry, pain, fear and frustration out of buying a used vehicle! Every car, truck, van and SUV comes with our “Love it or Leave it” Money Back Guarantee. You can return the vehicle for any reason! And we won’t pressure you into buying another vehicle or keeping the one you bought. Simply bring it back in the same condition in which it was purchased, and you will get a full refund…No Questions Asked. See store for details.

Find Out If The Dealer Offers Any Kind Of Guarantee Or Warranty On Their Used Vehicles?
Why would you want to risk spending money with someone who isn’t willing to stand behind the cars they sell? Most dealerships stand behind their vehicles with anywhere from a measly 10% to a whopping 50% warranty. You will find the dealers warranty listed in the window on the used car on the Federal Buyers Guide (it is a Federal Law that each vehicle display this document).

The challenge with these 10% to 50% warranties (anything less than a 100%) is that you do not control the pricing. Here’s what I mean. Most dealerships make 50% to 70% profit on automotive repairs. So, let’s assume that you have an engine go out in the vehicle you just purchased. The average engine repair today is in excess of $3,500. If the dealership pays for 50% and you pay for 50%, then you each contribute $1,750. OUCH. First of all, the engine probably already had a challenge when the dealership sold you the car. Second, the dealer has at least $1,750 worth of profit built into the $3,500 service ticket. So, you cough up $1,750 of your hard earned money on a vehicle you just bought, and the dealer loses nothing, in fact, they may even turn as much as a $700 profit on your misfortune.

SCAM ALERT! You have been warned…be very cautious about anything less than a 100% warranty at time of sale! When someone I care about is shopping for a vehicle, I urge them to consider the guarantee that is included. It may seem like you’re getting a good deal from a dealer or a private seller. But that good deal can quickly turn into a nightmare if you experience problems with the vehicle once you drive off.

At Frank Myers Auto Maxx and FrankMyersAuto.com we stand behind everything we sell by giving our customers a FREE LIFETIME ENGINE WARRANTY on every Certified Vehicle!
DID YOU KNOW? A Warranty is different than a Service Contract? A warranty is generally included in your purchase and has no additional charge. A service contract is generally purchased by the customer and is offered through a third party administrator. Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, “service contract” means a “written contract to perform, over a fixed period of time or for a specified duration, services relating to the maintenance or repair (or both) of a consumer product.”

Find Out If The Dealer Can Help You Arrange Financing At Competitive Rates With A Good Credit History? Or - Can They Help You Arrange Financing With A Poor Credit History?
Many dealers will be able to connect you with exceptional rates and finance sources if you have good or excellent credit, but many dealers fail to help people who have had credit challenges in the past (Even with excellent credit, many unprofessional dealerships fail to offer 100% of the customers 100% of their options 100% of the time).

I am personally very passionate about this topic. I have personally had many friends and family members with credit challenges in their past that wouldn’t allow them to borrow ten cents for ten minutes. They literally couldn’t buy a pop and charge it. What I remember most was the way they spoke about their credit challenges and the way that they were treated by auto dealerships. The ironic thing about this is that most car salespeople that I know have had their fair share of credit challenges, so who are they to pass judgment on anyone else?
Many banks and finance companies base their decision to loan you money in large part based on the relationship they have with the dealer. A dealer who has good relationships with a finance company will be better able to help you obtain financing. Building these relationships takes time, energy, and patience – which many people lack.

During the past 15 years, not a day has gone by that I haven’t given out tips to anyone who is willing to listen about how to raise your FICO score and how to improve your credit and thus your financial life.

My team of Finance Experts has helped thousands of people who have had credit problems obtain fair financing and re-establish their credit. We have over 100 years of combined experience in the field of automotive lending. We have a list of lenders and happy customers (with improved credit) available for you to see and we will never hassle you about your credit! We are the best dealership in the world at helping customers arrange financing (according to me). If we can’t get you a loan with one of our bank or credit union partners, then we have our own finance company that will give you a 2nd (and sometimes 3rd) chance with our “EVERYBODY RIDES” program!

I understand that other dealerships may TALK about Guaranteed Credit Approval but, unfortunately, most of the time it is only TALK! What is their GUARANTEE? What happens if they say “NO”? At Frank Myers Auto Maxx and FrankMyersAuto.com we are so confident in our abilities to offer you a finance solution, that if we can’t...we’ll give you $1000.00! It’s that simple!

Buying A Vehicle Should Be Worry Free
Most dealers will tell you that you should choose them because of Price or Service.
Low Price in the car business is an empty promise. All vehicles are priced based on supply and are held in check by book values. Generally, you will get a very similar price no matter where you shop. Beware of a dealer promising a price that is “too good to be true” - It most likely is…too good to be true. They will make up the difference in the finance department or they may not give you a fair amount for your trade in.

Service is another poor answer to this question. You should expect service! Providing good service should be a requirement, not a bonus. But sadly, most people who promise good service fail to deliver.

You should buy a car from someone who is able to give you a quick and powerful answer to this question…someone who actually provides something beneficial to you.

When I am asked that question, I share with my customers the ten things I believe separate us from our competition. At Frank Myers Auto Maxx and FrankMyersAuto.com:

1. No need to worry about ever making a mistake when buying one of our Certified vehicles. If you do make a mistake, we have our FREE “Love it or Leave it” Money Back Guarantee. You can return your certified vehicle for any reason! And we won’t pressure you into buying another vehicle or keeping the one you bought.
2. We have America’s #1 Used Car Warranty! ALL Certified vehicles come with a FREE Lifetime Engine Warranty!
3. America’s #1 Used Car Warranty just got better! ALL vehicles also come with a FREE 90 day/3,000 mile transmission warranty!
4. Our Finance Experts will offer you an opportunity to finance a vehicle or we’ll give you $1,000! (HINT: We have NEVER given anyone $1000!)
5. NEVER pay for a vehicle history report! We’ll give you a FREE vehicle history report at the dealership OR you can download it on our website. You make the choice!
6. We are the Triad’s ONLY Certified Master Dealer (CMD)! CMD is a training program for outstanding dealers in the used vehicle industry. Receiving the National designation of Certified Master Dealer is a recognition of a dealer’s dedication to the automotive industry and his/her proven record of stability, reliability and ethical business practices. When you buy a car from a CMD, you are buying from the “Best of the Best!”
7. We were named the Carolina’s Quality Dealer of the Year! Annually, only 1 dealer out of thousands is given this prestigious honor by a group of his/her peers. It demonstrates a commitment to quality that is second to none!
8. We were named the National Quality Dealer of the Year! This is the highest honor given to one dealer in the used car industry on an annual basis. When our owner, Tracy Myers, reached this career milestone he was the youngest dealer in history to do so!
9. We check it out so you don’t have to! Every single vehicle on our lot has gone through our 160 Point Mechanical & Safety Inspection by a certified Technician in a service facility with all of the modern technology and diagnostic equipment. A FREE copy of our Inspection is available in our showroom for you to review at your convenience.
10. Uncle Frank has vehicles to fit almost every budget! If you don’t see what you are looking for...just ask us. We have access to distribution centers all over the United States that can supply us with the right vehicle for the right price and the right payment!

ALWAYS Be Able To Speak To The Owner Of The Business
Yeah Right! Most car dealers today are collectors; they collect car franchises, boats, planes, wine, golf clubs, and other stuff. Most dealers are “absentee” meaning they are absent from the business and their employees are manning the ship.

I love my job. I love serving customers. My goal is to change the landscape of the car business. When you are in the store, be sure to stop by my office and say hello. My door is always open and I work hard 6 days a week to serve our customers (No time for golf, I’m busy raising a family). If I’m out buying cars or at one of our other stores, leave me your name and number with a manager and I’ll call you back as soon as I return.

Speaking of Family; be sure to bring yours (We Love Children – Young and Old). We have FREE movie night every night at 5:30pm , showing the greatest kids movies of all time. At our Winston Salem location, we have FREE classic arcade games...bring on the Pac-Man! We also have FREE drinks, popcorn, balloons and even Uncle Frank coloring pages. I almost forgot; we also have a FREE world-class Starbucks coffee bar (only the best for you) day and night.

We sell cars in downpour rain, 110 degree heat, 5 feet of snow, baseball sized hail, and bone aching extreme-cold so don’t let weather be an excuse! We have umbrellas and a bunch of folks who will run around and bring you whatever you need! Remember, we’re here to serve!

Thank you for the chance to share this information with you. Please accept my invitation to contact me personally whenever you have a question about car buying or are thinking about buying a vehicle for yourself or someone you love.

How to Keep Your Car Looking New

Our cars reflect our personalities. From a cute lime green bug to a powerful black SUV to a sexy red convertible, what we drive says a lot about who we are. But this good impression can be quickly ruined by a tarnished finish.

"Your car's exterior is constantly being assaulted by all kinds of potentially hazardous substances -- many of which you can't even see," says Glenn Canady, president of 5 Star Technologies, a company that makes vehicle maintenance products.

Canady says that dirt and grime from the road are just the beginning: "The dangers are everywhere, tiny droplets of sticky sap from trees that get on your car and will not only attract dirt and dust, but will bake into the paint surface and leave stains. And what we may think of as innocuous bird droppings are actually highly acidic substances which can erode paint and clear coat finishes," he adds.

Airborne contaminants such as by-products from construction and manufacturing and other floating elements can also threaten your finish. Add to that salt from the sea and from snow trucks and daily exposure to moisture, sometimes from acid rain, and you have a lethal combination.

Even the hot sun beating down on your car is problematic: it causes the paint pores to expand and absorb more dirt and moisture.

The most critical step you can take to maintain your finish is frequent washing, yet it is surprising how many people don't take this precaution.

A recent survey by carlove.org found that 52 percent of car owners wash their cars less than once a month and 15 percent never wash their cars. Here are a few suggestions from Canady on how to keep your finish glossy:

*You should wash your car at least once a week. Keeping your exterior consistently clean will lessen the impact of damaging dirt and chemicals that build up on your car's surface. In parts of the country that experience the use of road salt in the winter, frequent washing can reduce the corrosive effects of salt that cause body rust-through.

*Polish your vehicle with a product that provides durable protection as a final step after washing. Car waxes do not provide the long-term protection necessary to keep your paint looking new. They are made from inexpensive carnuba waxes, which melt and get sticky and attract dirt and pollutants.

"People can actually be doing more harm than good," says Canady, whose company makes a two-step polish called 5 Star Shine that uses PTFE (the same substance that makes nonstick cookware so slippery) and durable acrylic elements that create a chemical fusion that seals paint from the elements.

"This is not like ordinary waxes and polishes that simply lay on top of your paint and wear off in a few weeks," says Canady. "It actually bonds with the molecules of your paint." The slick coating repels dirt and will remain durable for at least 150 washes.

* If you drive on muddy, messy roads, consider an undercarriage treatment every time you wash your car. This will remove caked-on mud that holds moisture to metal and causes rust and body rot around wheel wells and door sills.

Used Car Insurance Made Easy

W hen purchasing insurance for your car, there are a variety of factors to consider. The state minimum requirements for auto insurance coverage vary depending on the state in which you reside; for example, in the state of Colorado, the minimum requirements for auto insurance coverage is 25/50/25, which pertains to bodily injury liability limits.

This translates out into $25,000 per person, $50,000 per incident, and $15,000 for property damage. Keep in mind that these are the absolute minimum limits required by law. I would definitely recommend carrying more than that in bodily injury and liability/property damage coverage.

If you cause a multiple-car pile-up, or even cause an accident where a few people are injured, chances are that you would cause more damage than you think. The extra premium you are paying for more coverage is well worth it (and this is coming from someone who is pretty conservative when it comes to spending money).

Comprehensive and Collision Coverage
It is also important to consider what deductible amounts would work for your used car situation. It is important to keep in mind that the higher your deductibles are, the
lower your premium amount for that year is.

Also, there are two kinds of deductibles: comprehensive and collision. Comprehensive pertains to any damage caused to your vehicle by vandalism, acts of God, hit-and-run, and hitting an animal. Collision has to do with actually hitting another vehicle while on the road.

Comprehensive claims do not affect your future insurance premiums, but collision claims do negatively affect you future premiums. So, I feel that you should have a lower comprehensive deductible, and a higher collision deductible.

My personal auto policy has a comprehensive coverage of $100 and a collision of $1000. Also, glass is covered under the comprehensive deductible. Some insurance companies have a $0 deductible for glass coverage, so ask your agent about this.

Used Cars Worth Less than $2000
If your used or older car is not worth more than $2000, then cover it with liability only insurance. That way, you are not paying for a collision deductible if it would cost you more to pay out the deductible than the vehicle is actually worth. However, don’t forget about the bodily injury liability coverage, as this could cover you if you are ever at fault in an accident. If you injure someone, you cannot simply claim that you are broke and have no coverage— you will still have to pay for the injuries or property damage regardless.

President Gives Loan Bailout to All Triad Car Buyers

President Gives Loan Bailout to All Triad Car Buyers
“Yes, you can get a car loan, right now, today!”

Forget all those news stories you’ve heard about how you can’t get a loan to buy a car. It may be true someplace, or even most places, but it’s not true here! My name is Tracy Myers, president of Frank Myers Auto Maxx, and I am obviously frustrated by all the lies about credit crunches and big bank failures. I know people want to get new cars and I know people can afford to pay for them, but the media is scaring them away and I’m fighting mad. They don’t even come out and look – and that’s a big mistake.”

Plenty of Cars and Plenty of Money to Lend
When customers do check out the cars at my dealerships, they find that financing is available on the spot -‑ for buyers with good credit, and folks with not-so-good credit, too. They get their loans at competitive rates with no hassle and drive home in the car of their choice.

How does my team do it when the big car companies are begging for handouts in Washington and turning away good customers all over the country? There’s no magic here. Ever since my great grandfather started the Frank Myers tradition of excellence more than 80 years ago, our main goal has been to make it easy and fun for people to get the cars they want. Plus, we keep our business local, sharing as much as possible with other businesses here in the Triad. That’s why we offer two kinds of loans that haven’t been affected at all by the worldwide financial crisis – these loans are available to anyone who wants to buy a car today.

My dealerships own their own finance company and maintain longstanding relationships with a network of credit unions in the Triad and surrounding communities. Both of these locally based loan programs have money ready to lend.
No Credit Crisis Here
Forget about all the big bank messes in Charlotte and New York. We’ve got money to lend right here, right now, to bail out every Triad driver who wants to own a quality car. Purchasers can fill out easy application forms as soon as they decide on the car they want. Our Worry Free Approval Process usually takes less than 30 minutes.

Help Yourself and Help the Country
The best way for America to get through this financial crisis is for Americans to believe we’re going to get through it. And that means continuing to work hard, love their families and buy the things they need. My job as a businessman is to do everything I can to make it possible for them to do that.

Low Prices, Too
In addition to readily available financing, my dealerships have a huge selection of late model cars in all brands and sizes from subcompact to SUV. And all are offered at some of the lowest prices in memory because demand has been down and we have a lot of inventory that has to move. That means our customers get the benefit of lower prices along with great selection.

I have gone out of my way to create a pleasant and satisfying experience for Auto Maxx car shoppers. Our Non-Commissioned Sales Professionals are trained to be helpful and there’s never any pressure because they’re not on commission. Free popcorn, coffee, video games and movies on the wide screen tv are always available.

Clean Up With FREE Car Washes For Life
To make sure you feel you’ve really ‘cleaned up’ when you buy a car from us, I’ve got an extra special Bailout Offer: I’m giving away free car washes for life to the first 49 customers who buy between now and February 28. And when I say ‘for life’ I mean it. You get free washes on the car you buy now for the rest of your life!

Frank Myers Auto Maxx is located at 4200 North Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem. Visit http://www.frankmyersauto.com/ or call 866-242-1277 for more information.

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do…

As The Song Goes, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do…Breaking Up Around Valentines Day Is Even Harder…But Sometimes You Just Gotta Do it.

It’s Over!

Don’t cry. It’s not the end of the world. In fact, it’s not you, it’s me. It’s my fault. But we can still be friends. Blah, blah blah.
Hopefully you won’t hear any of that kind of talk from your significant other. But I do think it’s time for you to make a move so I wanted to load your lips with some suggestions for doing the dirty deed. Breaking up around Valentine’s Day can be very hard to do but sometimes it’s necessary. I think right now is one of those times.
Let me give you a four more Valentine’s break up tips.
1. Break up on a Post It Note
2. Break up on voice mail
3. Break up via email, twitter or text
4. Visit Frank Myers Auto Maxx before February 28th

“My relationship is great.” “I’m not even in a relationship.” Great, that’s not what this letter is about. This letter is about breaking up with your old car and falling head over heals in love with a nicer, newer vehicle. This is the month to be in love and chances are you’re driving a car you’re not in love with. In fact you just might…

HATE YOUR OLD CAR!
Don’t Settle! There I said it.

Too many people settle for something less than they deserve only because they don’t know any better. It’s a shame. Criminal in fact! Why put up with a bad relationship? Why stay with a car you can’t stand? If your current car doesn’t fulfill your needs, wants, dreams and desires…DUMP IT! Kick its lame butt to the curb and start fresh.

Not all cars are pigs, you know. You can have a wonderful relationship with a car. One that’s chock full of excitement and fun. Imagine a relationship with a car you can rely on through thick and thin, for richer or poorer, till engine trouble do you part. You deserve a car you love to show off to your friends and family. How about a car the neighbors drool over? A trophy car. When you settle, everyone suffers.
Double Tax Refund Means More To Love

Many singles (not currently in a relationship with a car) or “wanna-be” singles (wish they weren’t in a relationship with a car right now) are shopping around these days. People love to shop but with the way the economy is right now, they’re reluctant to buy. They think it’s not a smart time to spend money on a car. They think the economy is bad and they believe there isn’t any financing available right now. Hummmmm…

I can’t help but wonder… are you worried about making a bad financial decision more than making a bad vehicle relationship decision? Don’t worry! Savvy investors, the media and experts alike all agree now IS the best time EVER to buy a car.

True, things are tough in the auto industry. You’ve probably heard and read about the Big Three automakers getting government assistance. That really doesn’t affect me here at [your dealership]. I’m not getting a bail out or a check from the government.

Here’s the good news for you. Because some many fewer cars are being sold, I’m able to buy’em and sell’em cheaper than every before. It’s supply and demand. Right now supply is high and demand is low. So they gotta go and I’m extremely motivated to sell cars.

Plus, if you bring in your final paystub of 2008, we’ll file your taxes on the spot and DOUBLE your REFUND toward a down payment on a nicer, newer vehicle you’ll love to own and be passionate about driving every single day. I’m not getting government money but the least I can do is help you get more.

Cupid Credit

If you’re not feeling the love because you’ve got bad credit or have had credit problems in the past, listen up. I’ve still got a few arrows in my quiver and can help you get the financing you want, need and deserve. Believe it or not, there are still banks out there lending and they would love, absolutely adore approving you for auto credit. As a matter of fact, if me and my team of Automotive Finance Experts can't offer you a finance solution...Uncle Frank will pay you $1,000...GUARANTEED!

I’m here to help you get connected with the right financing sources so you can get approved and secure rates and terms that make sense for your current situation. This is work, but that’s why I’m here. I love helping people just like you get connected with a car and financing that they can feel good about.

Right now Cupid Credit is in full effect and combined with our double tax refund program, you’re bad credit shouldn’t be a big deal at all. Give me a chance to hook you up with a nicer, newer vehicle you’ll love. You’ll see… Love is a powerful thing.

Breaking Up Isn’t Easy, So I’m Here To Help

Look, I know breaking up isn’t easy to do. Even if it’s with a vehicle you don’t really like. It’s a big step and after being in a bad relationship it’s scary to jump head first into another one (even if they are drop dead gorgeous and purr like a kitten).

Don’t worry. That’s why I’m here. I’m an expert. An automotive matchmaker. Most people don’t like blind dates, so come down and let me introduce you to a few hot numbers.

1. I’ll help you break up with your old car and get you into a nicer, newer vehicle you’ll love to own for the about the same monthly payment or possibly even less.

Frank Myers Auto Maxx - "Why You Aren't Driving The Car You Want To Drive/Part 3

Why You Aren’t Driving The Car You Want To Drive: Part 3

The Third Problem Keeping You From Your Dream Car: Credit

An estimated 70% of Americans have bad credit. Don’t be embarrassed. Good things happen to bad people.

Most people with bad credit incorrectly ASSUME they can’t buy a car. Perhaps they’ve been turned down in the past. But bad credit isn’t enough to keep a professional, caring, and courteous dealership from placing you into the proper vehicle you and your family deserve.

A savvy dealer with appropriate experience and relationships will be able to connect you with a number of different financing sources and options regardless of your credit situation.

So if you’ve had credit problems in the past or have been turned down before, don’t let that be a deterrent.

If you have concerns about your credit, call a few dealerships and ask to speak with a special financing specialist. Arrange an appointment for you to come to the dealership and speak with that person about your situation and discuss potential options.

The Fourth Problem Keeping You From Your Dream Car: Down Payment

In today’s fragile marketplace, many lenders like to see as much as a 33% down payment…even with good credit.

You may have looked at the cost of vehicles today and thought, “I can’t afford a $3,300 down payment for that $10,000 car I want.”

Don’t sweat it. Neither can most people.

Fact is, there are many finance programs available which allow you to make only the first monthly payment plus pay for taxes, tags and title documentation fees at the time of purchase – or in some case – put no money down.

You need to work with professional, courteous, and caring dealership personnel who can help carefully place you with an appropriate finance program to meet your needs.

All Your Holiday Shopping Free? Frank Myers Auto Maxx in Winston-Salem, NC Offers To "Payoff Christmas"

All Your Holiday Shopping Free?

Holiday Shopping Spree: Retail Experiment Could Mean Free Christmas For Some Folks

Good Investment: Buy A Car, Payoff Christmas

by J.A. Venezio
Special / Retail Press Newswide

Tracy Myers, owner of Frank Myers Auto Maxx is at it again. This Winston-Salem car dealer is always dreaming up new ways to stimulate business and help local residents drive a nicer, newer, more fuel-efficient vehicle but this time he may have gone too far.

It's a marketing experiment that could go horribly wrong and potentially cause Tracy financial distress but he is willing to roll the dice for the good of the economy, community and his business.

"I’ve been lying in bed for days trying to come up a way to help Triad residents get a sweet deal on a nicer, newer vehicle -- the gift most people really wanted but didn't get -- and help them with their Santa-sized sack of holiday bills at the same time," said Tracy. "I can remember several years where I looked at my statement after the holidays and said… 'I SPENT HOW MUCH???' It's never fun."

Myers's idea is a bold one that many local residents could benefit greatly from.

"I’ve been able to work it out so that if you bring in all your holiday receipts, I’ll be able to give you the full amount you paid to buy gifts for your friends and family off the price of a nicer, newer vehicle…one that’s Dealer Certified and comes with a free lifetime warranty and an iron-clad money back guarantee" explains Myers.

He continued by saying, "In essence, I’ll be paying everyone back for their holiday gift giving and helping them get the gift they really wanted but didn’t get… the Certified car, truck, van or SUV they’ve been dreaming of."

Of course many would say that a deal like this is just a gimmick or car dealer shell game. But Myers counters this by adding three very real conditions to his offer.

"This isn't a free-for-all, pardon the pun. It's not just some marketing bull. I really am testing this experiment and because it's for real, I have to put some conditions on the offer," warns Myers.

After this reporter investigated the three conditions it was clear that this was a legitimate offer by a local retailer who is truly trying to help families of the Triad during a challenging time that most people are trying to make the best of.

The three conditions for what Myers calls his Super Sweet, Free Christmas Experiment are as follows:

1) You must have the receipts for the gifts that you bought. A credit card or bank printout or statement will also do to show the amount you spent on others for holiday gifts.

2) You must describe the worst gift you’ve ever received. Myers plans on making a top ten list of the worst holiday gifts his customers have ever gotten and publishing it as part of next year's promotion for the event. That is only if the experiment is a success.

3) You must be willing to tell someone else about the offer. Myers says that between the slow holiday season, his personal holiday shopping and the current economic conditions, marketing dollars are in short supply. This condition is his way of spreading the word without huge expense and is part of what is allowing him to make such a generous offer.

Another condition that I uncovered by asking some tough questions was that the Christmas payoff offer was only good up to $4,000.00 in gift purchases. Not a bad number by any means but there is a cap.

Myers and I also discussed the economy and tightening credit.

"Many people who have been told they have credit issues are frozen. They think they can't upgrade their vehicle or do anything right now? That simply isn’t the case. Things are tougher but I have great financing relationships with both local and national lenders that cater to eager buyers in all kinds of credit situations. And because I'm an automotive finance expert I can still help families who need and want a nicer, newer vehicle," said Myers.

Myers had much to say on this topic but his main message was not to let the fear and uncertainty of what's going on keep you from living your life.

Finally I asked if Myers thought that this experiment would be a success and if we'd be likely to see it again next year.

Myers responded confidently, "I'll pay off all your holiday gifts with a big fat discount off the purchase price of a nicer, newer, more fuel-efficient vehicle. I'm really trying to come up with creative ways to help people be excited about the car they drive and save money at the same time. And of course sell a few additional cars in these tough times. It's a win-win."

Myers says the Experiment will last until January 30th at 5PM. After that he must pull the Super Sweet, Free Christmas payoff offer all together and review the results of the experiment.
